This release delivers meaningful enhancements to the Reviews experience within the Teams App (RTA), introducing flexible notification controls that give reviewers a more streamlined and consolidated communication experience. We’ve also expanded provisioning capabilities with richer token support and smarter field visibility, ensuring administrators have greater control over workspace creation workflows.

Features

  • Extended Requester Tokens: Provisioning templates can now reference a broader set of requester and requester manager attributes, including state or province, usage location, company, email domain, and up to fifteen extension attributes. These tokens are available for use in team name prefixes and suffixes, M365 Group mail nicknames, and custom site URLs, giving administrators significantly more flexibility when defining automated naming conventions.
  • Per-Cycle Review Notifications: Review cycles can now be configured to send a single consolidated notification email per cycle rather than one email per individual review. When the Per Cycle option is selected, each reviewer receives exactly one email at cycle start summarizing their total number of assigned review items along with a direct link to the Reviews overview page, reducing notification volume and helping reviewers prioritize their workload more effectively.
  • Teams Review Notifications: The Teams App now delivers review notifications aligned to the configured notification setting of each review cycle. Reviewers receive Teams notifications on a per-review or per-cycle basis consistent with the email behavior, ensuring a unified and predictable communication experience across both channels.

    Note: This feature requires an update to the Teams App manifest file.
  • Sensitivity Label Visibility Control: During provisioning, sensitivity label and visibility fields are now automatically hidden when they have not been preset and cannot be changed by the user. When a label is defined but locked, the field is displayed in a disabled state. This reduces confusion during the provisioning process and ensures end users only interact with fields that are relevant and actionable for their request.

Bug Fixes

  • Dark Mode Error Readability: Error messages in the Teams App and Nova portal were difficult to read due to insufficient text contrast across display modes. Text visibility has been corrected and confirmed across Dark, Light, and High Contrast themes.
