Hosting (SaaS)

SaaS is the default hosting choice for most Rencore Governance customers. In SaaS, Rencore hosts the service for the customer in a shared Azure subscription in the available Azure data center of the customer’s choice.

How it works

Rencore runs and maintains the service on behalf of the customer, who can access it with a standard web browser. The customer must grant the Rencore Governance SaaS permission to scan the data in the customer’s Microsoft 365 tenant.

Example

An organization that operates mainly in the European Union creates its Workspace and chooses the Germany West Central data center (Frankfurt, Germany). Rencore runs the service there, and all customer data of the Workspace stays in that data center. The organization’s admins then give consent for each connector they want to scan, and their users open Rencore Governance in the browser.

How it relates to other concepts

• You choose the data center when you create a Workspace. All data of the Workspace stays in that data center.
• The permission to scan your tenant is the consent you give for each connector.
• Customers in highly regulated industries can run the platform in a fully isolated Azure environment hosted by Rencore with the Dedicated Isolated Infrastructure add-on. See Add-ons.
