Rencore Governance reads your tenant and the AI services you connect, keeps a record of everything it finds, checks that record against your rules and helps you act on what breaks them. This page shows how the parts fit together. Each part has its own concept page with the details.

How Rencore Governance works

1. You connect your tenant and services. A Workspace holds one Environment, the Microsoft 365 tenant you connect. You choose which connectors to scan and give consent for each.
2. Rencore Governance scans them into the inventory. The inventory is the record of every object it reads, such as Teams, SharePoint sites, users, Power Automate flows and AI agents, with their properties and relations. Scanning runs on its own and keeps the inventory up to date.
3. Policies check the inventory. A policy is a rule, such as “Teams with very few owners”. Every object that breaks the rule is a violation, with a severity.
4. You act on what you find. You fix single objects with built-in actions, let automations handle violations for you, and ask workspace owners to confirm access in Reviews.
5. You follow the results. Reports and dashboards show inventory and policy data as charts, lists and KPIs, and you share them with the people who need them.

Provisioning works at the start of a workspace’s life instead: people request a team, a SharePoint site, a Microsoft 365 group, a Planner plan or a Viva Engage community from templates you control. Roles and teams decide what each Rencore Governance user can do and see. Rencore hosts the service for you, as described in Hosting (SaaS).

Find your way around

Inside an Environment, the navigation bar on the left takes you to Home, Search, Inventory, Dashboards, Reports, Policies, Automation, Review and Provisioning. It shows only the areas your role can open and your Subscription includes. Your user menu, the Workspace selector and Settings sit at the bottom of the bar. Workspaces and Environments shows each part of the screen.
