Workspace owner

Also known as: team owner, site owner

A workspace owner is an owner of a Microsoft 365 workspace, such as a Team, a SharePoint site or a group. By default, workspace owners are the reviewers of their workspace in a Review.

Workspace owners are set in Microsoft 365. They are different from users with the Owner role in a Rencore Workspace, which is one of the built-in roles of Rencore Governance.

Workspace owners know who should have access to their Team or site. Rencore Governance asks them to confirm access and fix problems, so IT does not have to check every workspace.

For example, a policy flags Teams with fewer than two owners, and an automation sends each Team owner one email that lists all their Teams with the problem. Owners can then add a second owner themselves in the Rencore Teams App.

Workspace owners and members use the Rencore Teams App in Microsoft Teams. There they see their workspaces, complete their reviews and request new workspaces.
