Workspace

Also known as: Rencore Workspace, multi-tenant management, workspace deletion, grace period

A Workspace is the top-level container in Rencore Governance. It holds the settings, users, roles and connected apps for exactly one Environment, the connected Microsoft 365 tenant.

All data of a Workspace is stored in the same data center and storage container.

Most organizations need only one Workspace. Partners and organizations with several tenants use one Workspace per tenant.

For example, a partner that governs three customers creates three Workspaces, one for each customer tenant, so no customer sees another’s data.

One tenant per Workspace

Each Workspace supports a single Microsoft 365 tenant. If you have access to more than one Workspace, you switch between them with the Workspace & Environment Selector.

Deleting a Workspace

Deleting a Workspace deletes all data of its Environment and cancels the Subscription immediately. Rencore Support can restore the data within 30 days of the deletion. After that, it cannot be restored. Deleting a Workspace does not revoke the permissions you granted in your tenant.

Not the same as a Microsoft 365 workspace

The Rencore Teams App (formerly Rencore Nova) uses “workspaces” for the Teams, SharePoint sites, Viva Engage communities and Microsoft 365 Groups a user owns or belongs to. Those are Microsoft 365 workspaces, not Rencore Workspaces. How Rencore Governance handles them from request to deletion is described in Workspace lifecycle.
