Guide
Search your Environment
Search finds the inventories, reports, policies, automations, reviews, and provisioning templates in your current Environment from one place. You do not need to know which area an item lives in.
Search for an item
To search your Environment, you will need to:
- In the left navigation, click “Search”, directly below Home. The search window opens on top of the current page.
- Type at least two characters of the item’s title or description. Results update as you type.
- Click a result to open it. The search window closes and Rencore Governance takes you to the item, or to its area when the item has no page of its own.
Search is not case-sensitive and matches any part of a title or description. For example, “owner” finds “Teams with very few owners”.
Read the results
Results are grouped by type, in the same order as the left navigation: Inventory, Reports, Policies, Automations, Review, and Provisioning.
- Each group shows up to five results. The number next to the group name is the total number of matches.
- When a group has more than five matches, click “Show all” in the group header to see every match.
- The row above the results shows “All” and one entry for each type, with its number of matches. Click a type to see only its results. Click “All” to go back.
- The matching text is highlighted in each result.
- The total number of results is shown at the bottom of the window.
If nothing matches, the window shows No matches for and the term you searched for. Try a shorter or different term.
Items marked Off
A result marked “Off” exists in your Environment but is currently disabled, for example a disabled policy or segment. Automations and provisioning templates that have errors are also marked “Off”.

What search covers
Search covers the items in use in your current Environment:
- Inventories, including their segments
- Reports
- Policies
- Automations
- Reviews
- Provisioning templates
Search does not cover:
- Your Microsoft 365 data, such as users, teams, sites, groups, or files. To find these, use the Datagrid search in the Inventory.
- Templates in the template libraries that have not been added to your Environment.
- Other Environments or Workspaces. To search another Environment, switch to it first.
