Webhook

Also known as: Trigger webhook, Send HTTP request

A webhook is a URL another system listens on, so that a call to it starts something there. In Rencore Governance, the automation actions Trigger webhook and Send HTTP request call such a URL.

This connects governance events to tools such as Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps or a ticketing system. Fields can hold placeholders filled from the object the automation runs on.

Use a webhook when the work should happen outside Rencore Governance, such as in a process you already run in Power Automate or in your ticketing system.

For example, a Power Automate flow with the trigger When a HTTP request is received gives you an HTTP POST URL. You paste it into the URI field of a Trigger webhook step, set the HTTP method to match the flow, and the flow runs each time the automation does.

In the automation builder, click + and select Trigger Webhook or Send HTTP request. Trigger Azure Function is a third action of the same kind.
