Viva Engage community

Also known as: Viva Engage communities, Yammer community, Yammer group

A Viva Engage community is a group in Viva Engage where people share posts, files and events around a team, project or interest.

The Viva Engage connector of Rencore Governance scans every community in your tenant into the inventory, with its owners and members. Communities are one of the workspace types Rencore Governance covers, next to Teams, SharePoint sites and Microsoft 365 groups.

A community without members still holds its posts and files. Finding those communities keeps the list of workspaces in your tenant current.

For example, the policy Viva Engage Communities without members flags empty communities, and the automation template Delete Community removes them, with or without an approval first.

People can request a new community from a Provisioning Template, and Reviews in the Rencore Teams App cover the owners and members of communities.
