Access review

Also known as: access report, Access Review Builder

An access review is a report in the deprecated Access feature that shows who has access to content, for owners to approve. Reviews replace it, and Access shuts down on 31 December 2026.

Access reviews cover Teams, SharePoint site collections, Microsoft 365 groups, Viva Engage communities, Power Apps, flows and Power BI workspaces. Each one lists the users and groups with access, and the reviewers approve that access or remove it.

Access and Reviews are separate features. Reviews, data and settings are not shared between them, so you finish each access review in Access and set up new reviews in Reviews.

For example, an access review of SharePoint site collections makes the site owners its reviewers by default. Each owner approves the permissions or changes the action to Remove. The changes reach Microsoft 365 during the night after the access review is finished.

Click Access on the Nav Panel to see your access reviews with their status and due date. Reviewers can also approve access reviews in Rencore Nova.

Move your access reviews

Access is deprecated and will be shut down on 31 December 2026. Move your access review processes to Reviews before then. Reviews cover the same need with review cycles, owner steps in the Rencore Teams App and automations.
