Built-in action

Also known as: action, bulk action

A built-in action is a ready-made operation you run directly on inventory objects without building an automation, for example adding a user to a Team.

Each built-in action has a criticality level, and you can restrict which roles may use it.

Built-in actions are for one-off changes. When the same change should happen again and again, build an automation instead.

For example, you can add a user to a Team from the Team’s details page, or select several site collections in a datagrid and add a site collection administrator to all of them.

Click Inventory on the Nav Panel, open an object with Go to Object, and pick the action on the right side of its details page.

Permissions on first use

Some actions need additional permissions in your tenant the first time you use them. If you are an administrator, click Give Consent. Otherwise, click Ask admin for consent to get a link for your administrator.
