Consent and reconsent
Also known as: admin consent, global consent, consent per service, reconsent, OAuth consent
Consent is the permission a Microsoft 365 administrator grants Rencore Governance to scan a tenant. You give it once globally through a single Azure app, or per service.
Consent per service lets different service administrators consent for their area. Reconsent repeats a consent you already gave. It is needed when Rencore Governance starts using an API that requires permissions your existing consent does not cover.
Without consent, Rencore Governance cannot read anything from your tenant. Consent per service gives you more control, because each service administrator decides for their own area.
For example, your SharePoint administrator can consent for SharePoint while your Power Platform administrator consents for Power Apps and Power Automate with a dedicated account.
You give consent in Stage 2 of Connect your tenant. Later, you manage it under Manage Consent in the Environment Settings.
Managing consent
Consent needs an administrator account. Anyone can send an administrator a consent link with Ask Admin for consent. Some connectors, such as Power Platform, Power BI, Copilot Studio and Azure, need extra steps.
You reconsent, or repair a consent, under Manage Consent in the Environment Settings. Deleting a Workspace does not revoke consent in your tenant. You revoke it in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
