Enterprise application
Also known as: enterprise app, service principal
An enterprise application is the local instance of an app in a Microsoft Entra tenant, its service principal, where admins control who can sign in and which permissions it holds.
When you give consent, Rencore Governance adds its enterprise applications to your tenant. With global consent you get one scanner app, and with consent per service you get one app for each service, such as Rencore Governance for Teams.
The consent is stored on these apps, so you manage it in Microsoft Entra ID. To revoke permissions, open the Rencore Governance application under Enterprise Applications in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
For example, to let only some users sign in to Rencore Governance, set Assignment required? to Yes on the Rencore Governance (Microsoft Account) application and assign those users and security groups.
The Entra ID connector also scans the enterprise applications in your tenant. Policies flag enterprise applications without owners and enterprise applications with Full Control or Write permissions.
