Canvas app

A canvas app is a Power App whose screens you design freely, by dragging controls onto a canvas and connecting them to data.

The Power Apps connector of Rencore Governance scans all canvas apps in your tenant, with their environments, versions and connections. In the inventory they appear as the object type Power App (Canvas App).

Canvas apps are easy to build and share, so they spread across environments. An app without an owner, or one shared with everyone, is hard to keep under control.

For example, policies flag canvas apps without owners, canvas apps shared with everyone and apps that require a premium license. Automation templates quarantine or delete a Power App, with or without an approval first.

Canvas apps are on the Power Apps tile under Inventory. Built-in actions add or remove owners and run-only users or groups on an app.
