Sensitivity label

Also known as: Microsoft Purview label

A sensitivity label is a Microsoft Purview classification, such as Confidential or Internal, that an organization applies to content and to containers such as Teams and SharePoint sites. Rencore Governance scans these labels.

Containers include Teams, Microsoft 365 Groups and SharePoint sites. Rencore Governance scans the labels of your tenant with the Microsoft 365 connector, so policies can flag sites without a label and actions can set the label of a group.

For example, a SharePoint policy flags site collections without a sensitivity label, and an action on the Microsoft 365 connector sets the sensitivity label of a group.

Label scanning needs the Security and Compliance consent or Global Consent. After a recent Microsoft API change, every connected tenant has to reconsent once to keep label scanning running.
