Category

Also known as: policy category, report category, automation category

A category groups policies, reports and automations by governance goal, such as Security or Costs. The template libraries filter by category.

The Policies and Reports landing pages can group their top items by category instead of by connector.

Categories group items by what they are for, so you can find templates and read the landing pages by goal instead of by connector.

The main categories are Security, Costs, Operation, Sprawl, External Access, Adoption, User Offboarding and Response Accuracy. Some newer policies use Information Oversharing.

For example, switch the Policies landing page to Category, and the Security tile shows the compliance score and the top violations of your security policies across all connectors.

Setting the category

A template comes with its category. You can change it on the Details screen of the builder, or type a new custom category there.
