Pay-as-you-go plan

Also known as: PAYG, PAYG plan, billing plan, billing policy

A pay-as-you-go plan links one or more Power Platform environments to an Azure subscription. Usage in those environments, such as Copilot Studio agent messages, is then billed through Azure.

The Copilot Studio connector of Rencore Governance lists your pay-as-you-go plans, and the daily costs of each plan come from the Azure scan. Rencore Governance reads this Microsoft billing data. It does not bill or cap the usage.

Consumption builds up between invoices, and an agent can run on a schedule without anyone starting it. Seeing the cost per plan lets you act before the Microsoft invoice arrives.

For example, the policy PAYG Plan Limit Exceeded - 7 Days shows a violation when a plan goes over the limit you set, and an automation can email the plan owner or quarantine the agents that cause the spend.

To see the numbers, add the Copilot Studio report templates for PAYG costs. Cost data needs the Azure consent and the Reader role on the Azure subscriptions that hold the plans. Without a pay-as-you-go plan in your tenant, these reports stay empty.

Limits

Cost is reported per plan, because Microsoft does not bill per agent. Use the conversation volume per agent to see which agents consume the most. The hard limit is set in Microsoft billing, not in Rencore Governance.
