License cost and currency

License cost and currency are the values Rencore Governance uses to show Microsoft 365 license costs in the inventory, reports and policies. The currency is set per Environment.

Monthly license cost is an editable column on license inventories, such as Subscriptions, which you update by exporting, editing and importing a CSV file. A currency change applies after the next scan of the affected areas.

License cost values turn license data into money, so cost reports and policies can show what unused or wrongly assigned licenses cost you.

For example, a report on unused licenses can show the monthly cost of the licenses assigned to disabled accounts in your Environment currency.

Editing the monthly license cost

Export the column template, change only the recommended column, then import the file. Use ”.” as the decimal separator and do not put values in quotation marks.
