Teams administrator
Also known as: Teams Administrator, Teams admin, Teams service administrator
Teams Administrator is a Microsoft Entra admin role that manages Microsoft Teams settings, policies and apps in the Teams admin center.
You need a Teams administrator account to upload the Rencore Teams App to your tenant, and again each time you update it with a new manifest file. The same applies to the deprecated Rencore Nova app.
Custom apps are uploaded in the Teams admin center, so a Rencore Governance role alone is not enough. Setting up the app in Rencore Governance needs the Owner or Admin role, and uploading it needs the Teams role.
For example, after an Owner clicks Download manifest in the Teams App Settings, a Teams administrator goes to Teams apps > Manage apps in the Teams admin center and uploads the zip file.
Once the app is uploaded, users can add it themselves from Apps in Teams. A Teams administrator can also roll it out to users with a Teams setup policy.
