Deleted object
Also known as: soft delete, soft-deleted object, deleted user, deleted group, deleted team, deleted site collection
When you delete a user or a Microsoft 365 group, Microsoft Entra ID keeps it soft-deleted for 30 days. In that time you can restore it with its memberships.
Rencore Governance keeps deleted objects as object types of their own in the inventory: Deleted User and Deleted Group in the Microsoft 365 connector, Deleted Team in the Teams connector and Deleted Site Collection in the SharePoint connector.
A deleted object can still be brought back for a while. Seeing it in the inventory lets you restore something that was deleted by mistake before Microsoft removes it for good.
For example, Entra ID keeps deleted users for 30 days. In that time, the built-in action Restore User Account brings one back. Other built-in actions restore a deleted group, a deleted team, or a site collection from the recycle bin.
Deleted objects are on the tile of their connector under Inventory, next to the live objects.
