Tenant ID

Also known as: directory ID, Directory (tenant) ID

The tenant ID is the GUID that identifies your Microsoft Entra tenant. You find it on the overview page of the Microsoft Entra admin center.

Some connectors ask for the tenant ID when you give consent. For Power BI, Copilot Studio, Azure and Microsoft Foundry, you create your own app in your tenant and enter its tenant ID, client ID and client secret in Rencore Governance.

The tenant ID, client ID and client secret must all belong to the same app. If they do not, the consent dialog shows Connection failed, and you correct the values with Review Configuration.

For example, the Copilot Studio consent dialog asks for the Directory (Tenant) Id. It then shows a PowerShell script with your tenant ID and client ID already filled in.

The Rencore Teams App also shows the tenant ID in some of its messages, such as when no Rencore Governance Workspace is connected for your tenant.
